Our Story

We founded Leadership for the Generations with a simple belief: leadership should be led by vision, built with purpose, and committed to achieving results that matter.

Inspired by the message in Chase the Lion (Batterson, 2016)—”If your dreams don’t scare you, they’re too small”—we stepped forward to create something bigger than ourselves: a leadership-focused company dedicated to helping others lead with courage and impact.

Our roots run deep in military, government, and corporate service. We’ve led through complexity, built teams under pressure, and carried the responsibility of leadership when the stakes were high. That experience shaped our passion to develop leaders at every level—because we’ve seen what’s possible when people are equipped to lead well.

Meet the Team

Cynthia Dewey

President & Executive Director | ICF Professional Certified Coach

Cynthia brings over 30 years of federal government leadership experience to her role as founder of Leadership for the Generations, LLC. She holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Colorado, Denver. A former GS-15 faculty member at the Federal Executive Institute, she has designed and led hundreds of executive leadership programs across agencies in the U.S. and abroad. As a Professional Certified Coach with the ICF and a certified Gallup Strengths Coach, Cynthia is passionate about unlocking potential through experiential learning and strategic development. She lives in Georgia with her husband, Robert.

Robert Dewey

Vice President | Chief Financial Officer

Robert brings decades of military officer leadership and public education experience to his role overseeing business operations and strategy at Leadership for the Generations. He holds a Master’s Degree in Management from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri, and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Auburn University at Montgomery, Alabama. After retiring from the Air Force, he turned a love of learning into a second career in public education, teaching students across all elementary grades. Now, he supports the company’s mission by helping to ensure its operations run according to its values and long-term vision. Robert lives in Georgia with his wife, Cynthia.

Whitney Dewey

Senior Account Manager | Facilitator | ICF Associate Certified Coach

Whitney brings applied knowledge experience in leadership development and team performance to her role. A former leader at Nike, Inc., she managed large, diverse teams and multi-million-dollar operations with a focus on customer experience, team engagement, and results. As a curriculum developer and certified instructional designer, she is a dynamic facilitator who combines deep expertise with an engaging approach to make complex ideas clear, relatable, and actionable. She fosters strong client relationships, provides executive coaching, and oversees the virtual production team. Whitney is an ICF-credentialed coach, Lean Six Sigma – Green Belt, DiSC and Hogan certified, and holds a graduate degree in Organizational Leadership from Johns Hopkins University.

Jared Dewey

Senior Account Manager | Facilitator | ICF Associate Certified Coach

A former active-duty Air Force officer and current sitting commander in the Air National Guard, Jared brings over a decade of military leadership experience to his work with clients and teams. He has led high-performing units in aircraft maintenance, executive leadership, and cross-cultural partnership missions, and now channels that experience into developing others. As an ICF-credentialed coach, skilled facilitator, curriculum designer, and certified practitioner in Everything DiSC, Hogan, and the Conflict Dynamics Profile, he supports leaders at every level with clarity, purpose, and partnership. Jared is also working toward a Master’s in Organizational Leadership and Learning at The George Washington University. He lives in Nebraska with his wife, Em, their son, Mason, and their dog, Stella.
